Redknapp Demands Goals.

All seems very obvious doesn’t it? You sell your goalscorers, then you find you can’t get goals. If only our Chairman had realised?!

Redknapp has said the only way Southampton can push for promotion is for the ‘goal-shy strikers’ to start scoring and a 1-1 draw with Hull – making it 8 draws in a row – isn’t going to get the team to the top of the league.

The strikers might be drawing blanks but luckily Matt Oakley wasn’t as he scored our first goal in over four hours of play at St Mary’s.

‘You have to put the ball in the net, but it’s something we find very difficult to do at the moment. We had 13 shots off target, lots of corners, got in some great positions towards the end but still we couldn’t score.’

He added ‘We’ve been slaughtering teams without beating them. At 1-0 I wasn’t exactly on the edge of my seat, I couldn’t really see Hull scoring, but you know it only takes one mistake and that is what happened.’
