Saints Fans We Need To Back Mau

I hope that once the white hankie waving has been done showing how much we all loved Nigel, we see all of us Saints fans get behind our new man and the team, as we try to get a result against Everton.

A lot of scorn has been aimed at our club over this weeks movements and understandably so to a degree. Yes Mau may have been waiting in the wings but if the tales being spread are only half true then Nigel knew he was on borrowed time.

Many people have laughed at the choice of new manager without going into a closer look at Mauricio’s record at Espanyol. They merely point to the fact that he was sacked in November with Espanyol sitting at the bottom of the La Liga.

Whilst this is fact what they don’t say is how he had his team ripped apart by Espanyol being forced to sell their star players due to serious financial worries.

Even now the club are having to sell to stay afloat. This may also benefit us, as Mau knows the players and may be able to pick up a couple cheaply in positions that he feels we are weakest.

When Alan Pardew was sacked in similar circumstances we were all dismayed. Nigel replaced him and we improved again from where we were. Now we have another new man at the helm and I hope that we give him and the team our full vocal support.

We may just be on the start of another incredible journey and one where we reach our target of getting into the top half of the Premier League. Nicola wants us to be fighting for European football and with luck we now have the man to bring it to us.

You may ask why the change in stance but enough negativity has been said and now we have to look for the positives.
