Newcastle Falcons coach Rob Andrew has been appointed by the RFU as their new Elite Rugby Director. It now looks as though Saints’ director of football Sir Clive Woodward will remain at St Marys for the forseeable future.
Prutton faces lengthy layoff
David Prutton will be out for around three months with ankle surgery. He first injured his ankle playing against Leicester City in the F.A Cup last January. He was thought to be on the verge of a move to Championship rivals Leeds United, only after a more detailed scan revealed the problem was the deal scupered.
