Southampton will once again be backed by a strong away following when they travel to Watford this Saturday.

The Saints, who regained top spot after Saturday’s 4-0 defeat over Derby, will be followed by over 2,000 fans for what is a huge game in Hertfordshire.

Nigel Adkins’ side are two points clear of West Ham, but the Irons have two games in hand.

Southampton have just won four games away from home this season, and they will have to improve their away form if they are to gain promotion to the Premier League.

Saturday’s game is the first of two games away from the south coast – the following Saturday sees the leaders travel to Elland Road for what will be Neil Warnock’s third game in charge of Leeds.

But the Saints have to concentrate on Saturday’s task of beating Watford. Earlier in the season Adkins’ men put four past a Watford side at St Mary’s – and the Hampshire outfit will be looking to do the same at Vicarage Road this weekend.
