On Saturday 5th January Saints hosted Chelsea in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. The game went well for Saints for half an hour before the Blues began to take control. In the end Saints were well beaten losing 5-1.

Now we travel to Stamford Bridge to face a team that is making the scoring of goals look easier all the time. Occasional blips aside Chelsea will be expecting a top four finish and they have a midfield to drool over.

The game will be hard but we will be going there looking to win. Whether we do or not might depend on them losing their scoring boots or us showing remarkable defensive qualities that we have not yet seen.

We can hope for the latter and with Artur Boruc showing improved form with every game maybe we can nick something from the game. Even if the bookies say not possible.

  • Oi!! You sposed to be saying we will do a job on the Blues. Not tell us it is a waste of time going up ther.

  • i say it as I see it. You just have to study the Chelsea bench against ours. That’s without comparing the starting elevens. We could win and I will be over the moon but I will be happy enough with a better showing than we had at ours.

  • If we could keep it to below a 2 goal margin so that we don’t drop a place in the table I’d be happy
