Southampton : Blow To Keeper

If this is true then our 23 year old keeper could be out for the rest of the season. The club though is hoping that the condition can be kept at bay.

Saints are going to have Bialkowski`s scans assessed by experts, and will be hoping that they will deliver the verdict that the problem can be managed.

This will then be allowing him to keep playing, but with a carefully built treatment programme in place to nurse him through the rest of his career.

This will of course leave us with the possibility that he will have to be rested frequently when the condition flares up.

Bad news for Bart because he is a warm fans favourite and has always done well for us. I hope that the operation can be avoided but if not at least he should make a full recovery.

I, along with all Saints fans will be hoping that the problem can be sorted out with the minimum of hardship to Bart.

Meanwhile that leaves us with the problem of maybe needing a long term back-up to Kelvin Davis.

Maybe a long shot but Shea has limited experience for a long term stint on the bench and may not even be allowed to stay by Arsenal.

In which case maybe there is an option ready and waiting.

Roy Carroll the ex Man Utd keeper is back home in Essex and is looking for a home. It wouldn’t hurt for us to take a look at him if his wage demands aren’t too exhorbitant I would think.
