Adam Lallana has said that after a good week of training, the manager has made it perfectly clear what he expects from the team when we face Spurs.

Speaking to saintsfc Lallana said the aim of the game against Spurs was to put in a much improved performance and do our best to secure a positive result.

‘We’ve analysed the West Brom game and hopefully we’ve learnt from it and as a player you want another game, so where better to go. We have been on a good run and we want to maintain that towards the end of the season.’

Lallana also said the squad were hurting following the Albion result, and they are all determined to put that right for the fans this weekend.

Adam also says that whilst a point will lift us to that magic 40 point mark, he doesn’t feel Southampton will settle for that, we want more.

‘We haven’t just been aiming for 40 points we want to get more than that if possible. We’ve got three games left which is nine points, so we’re taking it a game at a time. We’ve overcome some tough tasks recently so there’s no reason why we can’t get a result at White Hart Lane.’
