Southampton have been dealt the game of the day by the fixtures computer, as Crystal Palace visit the SMS on the opening day of the season.
But the Saints end of season run in is difficult by anyone’s standards.
In the final month of the campaign, Southampton will travel to Charlton and West Brom before ending the season at home to Sheffield United.
