There are 10 contenders for player of the year.

The short list is.

Kelvin Davis
Alexander Ostlund
Andrew Davies
Chris Makin
Jermaine Wright
Andrew Surman
Jhon Viafara
Marek Saganowski
Bradley Wright-Phillips
Grzegorz Rasiak.

All have made an impression on the play off push (except Andrew Davies) and the start of this season.

Kelvin Davis- has been on form this season and played a big part last season after a tricky ending to 2006.

Alexander Ostlund- a fans favourite and consistant performer.

Andrew Davies- He has made a big impression on the start of this season.

Chris Makin- He has been a consistant performer but has struggled with injuries

Jermaine Wright- has played right back, left back and centre midfield for saints in the past year, a fairly consistant performer and a hard trainer.

Andrew Surman- Bagged his first hat-trick last season and has been excellent for saints, a true saints supporter who gets involved with the community, he won his first England U21 cap and will represent his countries game against Ireland on 5th February at St.Mary’s.

Jhon Viafara- Another talented player in the saints ranks, he has played al over the midfield and has filled in at Right back and centre back in saints defensive injury problems.

Marek Saganowski- It didn’t take the Pole to make an impression on the Championship, scoring a hat-trick against Wolves and notching up 11 goals in the last half of the season before making his move perminant to the St.Marys stadium.

Bradley Wright-Phillips- he was known as a usper sub at the end of last season but has started more often this season and has scored goals, using is pace he has given defences all round the country a torrid time.

Grzegorz Rasiak- Had an superb 06 but has struggled in 07, nevertheless he has held his head high and gives so much effort and determination to the side.
