Walcot Going Nowhere

16 year old striker Theo Walcott has dismissed reports that he will leave Southampton if they don’t win promotion at the end of this season.

He said: ‘Of course I’ve seen the stories linking me with other clubs but although they’re flattering I take absolutely no notice. If I’d wanted to go to any of them, I wouldn’t have signed scholarship forms with Southampton over the summer.

Adding:

‘I’m ambitious to play in the Premiership but I want it to be with Saints,’ Walcott told the club’s official website. ‘The fans have been superb and I’d hate them to think I’m looking to jump ship at the first opportunity.’

If he carries on developing as he is, we’ll have to hope that the club can match his ambitions, because the big boys will come knocking.
