Ten men Southampton came back from 2-1 to rescue a point for new manager Mark Wotte against Swansea City.

New manager Mark Wotte explained how pleased he is with the side: ‘The attitude and the working spirit of the boys was excellent,’ Wotte said. ‘We were a team and we were fighting for each other.’

Tuesday night sees the Blades come to St. Mary’s for what is another big match for Wotte and his men. The Dutchman reveals that he is confident about taking the three points: ‘Coming back from 2-1 to 2-2 in this match with ten men gives us confidence that if we can stay with all 11 players on Tuesday night then we can win that match. We have to prove ourselves again in our own stadium.’

The return of Marek Saganowski has lifted the Saints with the Pole scoring four in four. Wotte praises the striker: ‘Marek is very important for us at the moment,’ he continued. ‘He’s working hard, he is there and I think the second striker benefits from that and David McGoldrick tried to do his best as well.’
