The Southampton youth team defeated Solar Soccer Club 4-2 to reach the Semi Final’s of the Dr Pepper Dallas Cup yesterday.

Goals from Jake Thomson, Josh Dutton-Black, Matthew Paterson and Adam Lallana gave the Saints a 4-0 half time lead, which was enough to get them through on goal difference.

However, a twist in the second half saw, Saints concede two goals and saw Oliver Lancashire sent off.

That meant to progress, they had to rely on the other game in the group, which saw Tigres beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0, which was enough to see Saints go through and probably line up a semi final match against Chelsea.

Coach Georges Prost said to the official site: ‘I am delighted for the lads because they worked so hard. I think we are likely to play Chelsea in the semi-finals but whoever we get, we are just pleased to be through.’
