The Saints Foundation welcomes 2012 with a range of experiences for fans to take on a new challenge and raise funds for disadvantaged young people and vulnerable adults.
Southampton has broadcast the news of these challenges by saying, It’s a brand new year so why not take on a new challenge? Make it a True Saints Challenge and get yourself a True Saints Award at the end of it!
The challenges will not be for the faint hearted and it is possible that fans of other teams could join in if they wished.
The challenges are :
Monday 9th April 2012: Big Bike Challenge
ou can join other fans as they cycle the 85 miles to Crystal Palace.
May; Zip Wire
oar across the pitch on a Zip Wire right here at St. Mary’s Stadium, an amazing experience and a one off way to see the pitch.
Saturday 1st September; London Stadia Trekathon
n this one you can retrace the footsteps of the Olympic athletes by walking 26 miles around our capital.
Friday 26th October; Sahara Desert Trek (10 days) Camping under the stars, crossing open plains, trekking through the dunes, this 10 day trek is awe-inspiring and humbling, if you have the desire to take part in the challenge of a lifetime then this is the trip for you.
Sunday 28th October; Bupa Great South Run
ast year we saw friends of the Foundation doing the Bupa Great South Run and this year there are 25 places up for grab.
Overseas Trip to Africa 2012
ast year 25 fans experienced the trip to Kenya and openly said how great and life changing the trip had been. In 2012 we will be revisiting Africa on similar projects focusing on sport, health and lifestyle, more information will be available soon, but please get in touch if you are interested.
January 2013; Shark Encounter (U.K)
o you fancy getting up close with Sand Tiger Sharks, Nurse Sharks, Zebra Sharks and more? If so this may be the challenge for you! More info later.
February 2013; Kilimanjaro Marathon or Half Marathon
f you fancy running a marathon or half marathon in the shadow of the Kilimanjaro mountain watch the Saints OS for more information.
