Nigel Adkins has again taken the positives from our narrow loss to Man U today, but he knows performances such as that count for little unless we start picking up points.

Speaking to saintsfc following the 3-2 loss, the gaffer said.

‘Again, we’ve put ourselves in a position to pick up points but unfortunately we haven’t done. We scored good goals and played some good football at time, the atmosphere was bouncing and that’s what we want to produce on a regular occurrence, but we haven’t picked any points up.’

Adkins does admit the two late goals are annoying as he feels we could’ve been quicker on the set pieces.

‘I’ve just seen the goals again, and they’re obviously both from corners. At the end of the day, they’ve got first contact on two balls into the box and that is the annoying thing.’
