Nigel Adkins was delighted that his side picked up nine points out of nine following the win at Coventry.

The Saints beat Middelsbrough and Peterborough at St.Mary’s before winning 4-2 at Coventry on Saturday.

And the Southampton manager expressed his delight with the win at the Ricoh Arena.

‘I’ve asked for nine points out of the players this week, and we’ve gone and got it.’ He told the official website.

‘It’s a great victory. It’s three points. We were expected to win the game, because of where we are in the league.

‘I was really pleased about the first half, and then we’ve gone on and won the game, which was really pleasing.’
