Boruc Will Make Amends

Goalkeeper Artur Boruc has now repeated that he will make up for the freak goal he conceded in the game against Stoke, and he says he’ll win those two points back.

Personally I don’t think he has anything to atone for to be honest, but hey, who am I to argue if he wants to win us two points in the future.

Speaking to saintsfc following the game, the keeper said of the bizarre goal less than 60 seconds into the game.

‘The last time it happened I was a kid and it was on pitches without the stands and a bad surface. That kind of situation I knew that from the warm up it was going to be bad conditions and it’s a big thing in the warm up to do it properly, so I was very angry to concede.’

The goal has now been officially credited at only 12 seconds, which has to be a record to be honest in football, let alone in the Premiership.

Speaking more about it, Boruc says that he didn’t have enough time to judge the flight of the ball, especially after the bounce, and it was unfortunate that he was that far forward and in the ‘middle of nowhere’ as even being only two foot further back from where he was, could’ve made all the difference.

‘Like I said before I promise to everybody that I will get those two points back.’

Again, he’s won us more than enough points since joining the club, so I doubt anyone with a brain will be overly critical as things like this just do happen in football, and especially with goalkeepers, hindsight can be a very wonderful thing.
