Sky Sports are reporting that Saints have secured the signing of Vitesse Arnham left back Alexander Buttner.
Apparently the Dutch club have confirmed that a fee has been agreed for the 23 year old, but as of yet their is no confirmation from Southampton.
Buttner has played more than 100 games for Vitesse and has attracted a fair bit of Premiership attention this season from the likes of Fulham and QPR, but has already said he was very impressed when given a tour by Southampton, so we were always in pole position.
Vitesse say our opening offer was rejected, but an improved offer has been accepted, leaving Buttner free to return to England for a medical and to discuss personal terms.
Vitesse’s official website said (translation).
‘Vitesse and Southampton have agreed the transition of Alexander Buttner to the Saints.’
