Mark Wotte expects Kelvin Davis to remain at the club next season.
Davis, 32, is out of contract in the summer, but Mark Wotte is confident that he will stay:
‘I had a good meeting with Kelvin Davis and it was a very positive conversation,’ Wotte told Southampton’s official website.
‘He has always said that he is keen to stay at Southampton if we can all agree an appropriate offer.’
The ex-Sunderland keeper won the Southampton player of the season award by a huge margin, and with this he has drawn a lot of attention from other clubs.
Leeds United have declared their interest along with some Championship clubs, and head coach Wotte is aware that it isn’t up to him: ‘It is in Kelvin’s hands now. We have outlined a provisional offer to him, but of course, it is dependent on us getting the go-ahead once the financial situation is more clear.’
