The Southampton player capped a stunning fightback from the visitors to earn a share of the spoils as he swung a fierce volley into the top left corner of the net after a superb piece of work which saw Luke Shaw break from deep inside his own half.
The youngster raced down the line, and cut inside before crossing the ball into the penalty area where it deflected off Gaston Ramirez and perfectly into Puncheon’s path.
Talking on Saints Player Jason said, “It was instinct really,” Puncheon said. “I knew that the ball was going to bounce up and once I took a touch I knew it would sit up for me so I just hit it right and it went in.
“It`s always good to get a goal but the most important thing was to get something from the game.
I couldn’t agree more and I am sure that there are a lot of Saints fans who will enjoy watching that goal several times.
