Le Tissier to save Saints

Southampton administrators are entering a period of exclusivity with the Pinnacle Consortium led by Matthew Le Tissier.

Saints legend Le Tissier fronts the eager party who have been interested in buying the cash-strapped Saints for weeks now.

The Pinnacle group now have 21 days of exclusivity in which they have to confirm a deal to buy the south-coast outfit.

The group had to pay a non-refundable, undisclosed fee to ensure the three week exclusivity deal, and this cash influx has enabled to club to pay the staff for May.

Joint administrator, Mark Fry is pleased with today’s announcement and spoke to the official website: ‘I am extremely pleased to be able to announce this significant development in the sale process of the assets of Southampton Leisure Holdings Plc, including Southampton Football Club.’
