The time for debating the wisdom of Mark Hughes being our new manager is gone. He has been given the task of keeping us in the Premier League and we have to pray he can do just that.

Now we need to show our true colours and give our loudest ever vocal support to the team.

We have some distinctly difficult matches ahead, but Hughes started well with victory away to Wigan and reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup will have seen the team receive a massive boost for our game against West Ham United.

West Ham have flown to Miami for some sunshine training in a bid to improve morale so it’s over to the fans to help our team by outshouting, singing and chanting the Hammers fans to bring them back down to earth. There is no room to manoeuvre so we need to start winning straight away.

I reckon a win at the London Stadium followed by wins against Swansea and Bournemouth could be enough to survive. We can still do it so come on everybody let’s roar the team on to survival.

  • Massive boost to win in his first time in the dug out. Hopefully the first of many more to come.

  • He still has a lot to do before the West Ham game but this result will help a lot. It was good to hear the vocal support at Wigan as well.

  • Bonus going into the international break now with a win for confidence, the more he can get into the players over the next week and a bit the better.

  • I think after a couple of days pondering I am still not convinced. Yes they did much better in the 2nd half but play like they did in the first half at the London Arena and they will lose whatever confidence they gained. Hope the break helps Mark better understand what he has and how to use them for the better.

  • We need to get at them from the start. No matter how it goes our fans will support the team if they see them trying and doing their best.

  • Welcome to the site Mr Soggy. The table could look a lot prettier soon enough couldn’t it.
