Wembley here we come.
Another chance for Southampton to visit Wembley after the disappointing result last year against Manchester United.
Wigan gave us a lot of trouble especially in the 1st half of our quarter final but failed to hit the back of the net. Sometimes through bad luck but occasionally through some errant shooting.
The 2nd half saw a more determined Saints take control and finally score the goals to win a tense encounter. The 1st goal was a tad fortunate but the 2nd was pure quality with Saints breaking swiftly and scoring with aplomb.
Chelsea also had to fight to overcome a Leicester side that tried manfully to take advantage of their being at home. How galling for them that former player Kante proved to be Chelsea’s MOTM. Chelsea will be hot favourites to win against us and are favourites now to win the FA Cup outright.
Intriguingly we have to play Chelsea the week before this match. I wonder how many of us would prefer to win our home game against them rather than the cup game?
I think my preference would be the league game but I am likely to feel different when our semi-final is about to be played.
