17 year old Luke Shaw has said he is loving training with the first team at their camp in Evian-les-Bains.

Speaking to saintsfc the highly rated youngster said he was enjoying the banter that was coming from the seniors, but he knows it’s an experience he should relish and learn from as he continues to develop.

‘Some of us get some stick but you’ve just got to take it – it’s all part of it isn’t it? It’s good to get some banter, so you have to learn from it! It’s amazing to be here as I’ve only just turned 17, it’s really good.’

Shaw also said starting the game in the Memorial Cup against Anderlecht was another steep learning curve for him, but he loved it.

‘That was great. There was a good atmosphere and I did find it hard, but that’s what you’ve got to do if you want to step up. Hopefully, I can push on now and be in the first team for the start of the season.’
