Pinnacle still want Saints deal

Pinnacle boss Tony Lynam is confident that a deal for Southampton FC can be made.

Both Pinnacle and the Football League met yesterday to discuss the situation at St. Mary’s.

The Pinnacle consortium, fronted by Saints legend Matthew Le Tissier felt that they had a strong case to appeal the ten point penalty they were handed at the end of last season.

However, the belief was soon abolished by the Football League, who want in writing that the consortium will not appeal against their decision.

This led to many doubts regarding the sale of the club.

But Mr Lynam reassured Southampton fans that the deal is still on: ‘The bottom line is the Football League have considered part of what we want in the agreement for the purchase.’ He told the Daily Echo.

‘They are tonight sending across details of what they want which are not the same things.

‘We need to read it, digest it and chat about it.

‘We are not on the same wavelength but it will be sorted out. Simple as that.

‘It`s not a deal breaker.’

Despite Mr Lynam’s positive conversation with the Daily Echo – administrator Mark Fry is still in talks with other parties regarding the sale of the club.

‘Their exclusivity has slipped away and I am in the process of talking to other potential bidders whilst hoping that Pinnacle`s interest will remain.’
