Mauricio Pochettino has apologised for stepping onto the pitch at full time to let Mark Clattenburg know his thoughts on the penalty decision.

Speaking following the game, Pochettino said he didn’t think it was a penalty at the time, and having watched it back now he doesn’t believe it was a penalty, however, he appreciates the mist descended in the moment and has apologised for going on the field of the play.

‘In that moment, you cannot really control your emotions, you are angry, my pulse was really high because I thought it was unfair to us and never a penalty. I know I should not have been on the pitch and I apologise, but sometimes you can lose control a little bit. However, I know that us managers must control ourselves.’

It’s not known yet if Pochettino will receive a disciplinary charge from the FA but I hope not. Showing some passion is never a problem in my eyes and I don’t believe he overstepped the mark really.

There’s certainly more useful things the FA can look it if they are bored.
