Pochettino’s Red And White Army

Mauricio Pochettino told us that we were after three main signings to strengthen the club this summer. As good as his word we now have a third and we are definitely looking a hell of a lot stronger than we were at the end of the last season.

Last season our defence was a major disappointment but after some tinkering it began to look a better more cohesive unit. Adding Dejan Lovren to it has given it a much more solid looking base.

The arrival of Victor Wanyama was a clear statement of intent from the chairman. He said he wants us to be challenging for Europe which means at the very worst a top six position.

With Wanyama we have bought a colossus and one who will terrorise other teams with his all round strength of mind and stature. He has already won over many doubting Thomases as to his value to our team.

Now, incredibly, we have gone even higher in the market and brought in renowned striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo on a four year deal.

Having intent is one thing. Saying that our club will never be relegated whilst he is chairman is another.

Going out and backing his manager, and his own words, is far beyond the realms of possibility that us Saints believed could happen.

How it all ends up no-one knows but one thing is for sure. Nicola Cortese has in one transfer window given Pochettino his own personally selected team. Nobody can say that this is Adkins team.

We are Pochettino’s Red and White Army.
