Southampton’s young star Andrew Surman is eyeing up a move to the Premiership.

The 22 year old has started every game this season for Jan Poortvliet and is now closer than ever to playing in the Premiership.

Surman told BBC Radio Solent: ‘I feel I’m ready to step up to Premier League level.

‘Any player wants to play as high as they can. I’d love to play in the Premier League for the benefit of my personal career.’

The South African born midfielder has been linked with a move to the top flight for two seasons` now. And Premiership clubs Stoke and Fulham have shared an interest in the England Under-21 International, making his dream one step closer.

Surman feels that his experience gained in the Championship has helped him, and his potential Premiership move is perfect timing: ‘Some players step up to the Premier too early and end up in the reserves, but I’ve played over 100 games now, so I feel I’m ready for the next level.’
