The Spanish side qualified for European involvement after finishing 6th in La Liga under the guidance of ex Sevilla manager Joaquín Caparrós last season.
The two cities have been connected through trade since the 19th century. With both cities having thriving ports, and with Bilbao being in the centre of the Spanish industrial area, many British workers headed that way.
The other participant in the three way cup will soon be known, so that we can prepare for a day of hopefully entertaining and quality football.
This should be a good day for all of us and is a brilliant way to remember our saviour.
