This week former Southampton youngster Olufela Olomola has completed a free transfer to League One side Scunthorpe United on a free transfer.

The 20-year-old striker came through our youth ranks and did make his senior debut during the 2016/17 campaign. He replaced Jay Rodriguez in the 26th minute of our EFL Cup tie against Sunderland.
Last season he spent time out with Yeovil Town, scoring seven times in 28 appearances for Darren Way’s side and he now makes the step up to League One level as he continues his development and forges a career for himself. Scunthorpe recently lost out to Rotherham United in their Play-Off battle so will be hoping for another promotion push next season.
Always sad to see a youngster move on and not quite make it with us, but it is the nature of the beast and Southampton fans were certainly full of well wishes for the youngster as he takes his next step in the game.
From the responses, plenty will be watching his progress closely thinking we’ve made a potential mistake here.
So sad it didn't work out for you at Saints but Good Luck at Scunthorpe and hopefully they won't need the play offs next season. Keep scoring like you did with Yeovil and automatic promotion could be a reality.
