Brighton OS has issued a statement saying that Calderon has signed for 3 years. A clause has been added saying that after 6 months the contract can be cancelled if the right back fails to recover completely from his hip injury.
Calderon himself stated on the Brighton OS, ‘ I am pleased that everything has been sorted out and that I have now signed a long term deal with the club.’
Adding, ‘I had wanted to talk to Southampton, although my mind was virtually made up. My heart is with Brighton and Hove Albion, I love the city, the fans and the club, and ultimately I did not want to leave.’
The Daily Echo has had this news on their site since yesterday and also the news that Dickson has signed for us but the fee will be decided by tribunal.
Nothing on either Brentford or Southampton’s sites to confirm this. this with a little snippet saying ‘Sources have confirmed’ which in paper talk can mean anything.
So Calderon won’t be coming and we still need at least one good right back.
