Richard Chaplow Saints’ recent signing after his loan spell, has said that he is really looking forward to the test that Manchester United will bring to St Mary’s.

The Premier League leaders have quality throughout their team and their bench is a bench to hanker after.

Though he said he expects no let up from Saints, the main worry from the fans point of view, is that they aren’t suffering a hangover come the Tuesday night game against Exeter.

Though he says that the team takes every game as it comes, United will definitely be a special consideration.

With the league games coming thick and fast and with the team having the fans high expectations on board as well, the United game will be a chance for the players to play for enjoyment.

Nobody really expects us to win so a good performance is the main request from most. If we do well that would be a big bonus.

Talking about the team Richard says that it has a good blend of experience and youth. The experienced ones should be able to help the younger ones he says.

The youngsters may well hold less fear and may also be more prepared to express their skills more freely.

The pitch we have is good and suits Saints style of play and United will also find it suitable for them.

Richard is sure it will be a good game and says the lads are looking forward to playing their illustrious opponents.

As he says, ‘the lads are looking forward to playing against them with a smile on our face, and if things come off for us then we can produce a result.’

For me it is a game to be enjoyed first and foremost. Victory will be an incredible bonus, but a good performance against possibly the best team in the land is what we all desire.
