Saints OS was pleased to broadcast this great news as it highlights the good work that our academy is doing.

The 15yo schoolboy has risen rapidly through our ranks and has even played a few games for our under 18 team as it ended last season with an unbeaten run.

Ward-Prowse joined Saints at the Under-9s level and has progressed well each year he has been with us.

He will be involved in the England squad which was recently crowned European Champions at their level. This will be another feather in the cap of our youngster.

England Under-17’s will be playing in the Nordics Tournament held in Latvia during the month of August. Our opponents will be Finland, Denmark and Iceland.

James’s call up is of real significance to the academy as it highlights yet again the great work we are doing with the youngsters.

Academy Manager Matt Crocker said about James, ‘He has done exceptionally well in his time here, and he is a player who we have earmarked for the future.’

He continued, ‘We are in a fortunate position where we have been able to fast-track in terms of his development which we would not have been able to do without our chairman.’

The OS added that the academy was also pleased to announce the news that Jack Dovey our 17 year old goalkeeper had been asked to Lilleshall for a two day England goalkeeping development programme.

I find it heartwarming when we can say such positive things about our club. Our chairman has again maintained the effort which is needed to help our academy progress.
