Fresh from signing his two year extension at the club, Jordan Turnbull has said he’s hoping to follow in the footsteps of James Ward-Prowse and Luke Shaw and get himself some reasonable pitch time next season.

Speaking to saintsfc the 18 year old has already established himself in the U21 squad alongside Jack Stephens, and now he’s hoping he can get himself involved in the first team and maybe get some appearances from the bench next term.

‘It was a big step (U21) and I needed a few games to get used to it all, obviously the physicality is there, and mentally as well, because you’re playing against stronger and faster players. I’m pleased with the way I’ve progressed and hopefully it will keep going.’

His development last season also saw him called into the England U19 side alongside fellow Saint Calum Chambers, where he made two appearances for them.
