Saints face in form Burnley at St Mary’s on Saturday, with the future of Harry Redknapp still very unclear. The rumours regarding his return to Pompey have escalated this week, especially since Neil Warnock
decided to stay in Sheffield.

Harry’s now the bookies favourite for the job. This all comes at a time when we really need some stability, as we desperately need to get some momentum for the busy Christmas period. Having said that Harry’s team haven’t won since beating Stoke in October and maybe some Saints fans wouldn’t be too concerned if he walked as we’ve now now slipped to a depressing twelfth in the Championship.

Burnley, on the other hand, are in excellent form having won five out of their last six. That run has coincided with them taking Nathan Dyer on loan from Saints, the 18 year old has scored two in three games for the Clarets and unsurprisingly Steve Cotterill is eager to keep the
pacey youngster on loan. He said on their official site ‘I’ve spoken to Southampton and said we’d like to take him for the season so hopefully we can.’ Hopefully Saints won’t allow this and realise we could do with the in form winger back at St Mary’s, to bolster our
stuttering attack!

Burnley Team News:

Mike Duff has a one match ban. John McGreal should be fit.

Player to watch: John Spicer

Midfielder who has been amongst the goals this season.

Match Facts & Stats

Southampton are 12th with 27 points and 3 points jump the saints up one or two places depending on the goal difference.

Burnley are 7th with 31 points. They could go up to 4th with a win.

Match Prediction:

It should be a tough test for Saints and its a difficult time for the players to remain focused, due to the uncertainty continues around Redknapps future. Still its a game we really need a win from, as Burnley currently sit comfortably above us in the table.
