2 Shots, 1 Key Pass & Southampton Summer Signing Continues To Impress As He Lifts MotM

|

Southampton put the September international break behind them in some style as we made the trip to Bramall Lane to face newly promoted Sheffield United on Saturday.

It was a mixed and largely even affair, and Southampton needed the Video Assistant Referee technology to chalk off their opener, but midway through the second half, summer signing Moussa Djenepo made his mark to get on the scoresheet and win us the three points on the day.

We saw out United’s best efforts to get back into the game and the straight red card for Billy Sharp counted against them as they largely lost their momentum, so it’s our second win of the year.

Statistics website Whoscored were extremely favourable when it came to our player ratings from the day and Djenepo got their star man award for Man of the Match with a score of 8.70.

Completing the top five best performers in their system were Sofiane Boufal (8.10), Jannik Vestergaard (7.57), Angus Gunn (7.39) and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (7.38).

Che Adams, Jan Bednarek and Oriol Romeu also received seven plus scores.

Onto Bournemouth…
