Bye Bye Burley!

George Burley left saints today as he took over the job at Scotland, a good move for all parties.

Burley had this to say: ‘I’m very sad to be leaving Southampton, It will be a big wrench because it’s a fanastic club, with fantastic facilities, some teriffic people, great bunch of players and some magnificent supporters.’

Burley has hardly been a fans favourite, especially after he failed in a bid for promotion and has had a poor season so far.

Saints now look to the future and some great names have been linked with the saints job. Mickey Adams could be the fans choice, As well as Jason Dodd, who has had some experience with Blue Square South side, Eastleigh.

Cheif Scout John Gorman and Assistant Jason Dodd have been put in charge at St.Mary’s as caretaker bosses. They will take charge of the home cup tie against Bury and perhaps the home game against Norwich, just 3 days later.
