Southampton Academy graduate Jake Hesketh continues to make strong friends during his loan spell out with League One side Burton Albion in the 2018/19 campaign.

The 22-year-old headed out during August to the Pirelli Stadium, much to the consternation of some Southampton fans who felt he had a role to play in manager Mark Hughes first team, and he’s doing himself no harm at all.

His record at the club so far reads 12 starts and four substitute showings and in that time he’s returned two goals and his all action displays have already seen the Brewers faithful take him to their hearts.

Whilst he didn’t mark his appearance against Coventry City last Saturday with another goal, when substituted late on he received a standing ovation from their fans in recognition of his efforts in their 1-0 victory and the Burton social media team couldn’t resist commenting on it.

With chairman Ralph Krueger suggesting that the January transfer window may again be quiet for the club, they could certainly do worse then ensure Hesketh returns to St Mary’s to help give the fans something to shout about.
