Some Southampton fans have been reacting to a social media post which was uploaded by club captain Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, which has caused a great online divide.
The Saint Centre uploaded a screenshot on the Danish midfielder’s Instagram story, which was later deleted, of an image that was made up of players that have been sold by the Saints, which he was included in.
This follows on from reports that Hojbjerg could be on his way to Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur and has been heavily linked with a move to north London.
Will Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg leave Southampton?
Yes
No
The Denmark international has just one year left on his contract and it looks unlikely that he will lengthen his stay at St Mary’s after previously hinting that his time with us could be over.
Bearing this in mind, supporters could not come to an agreement on his post and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he was “overrated” after giving him a virtual dressing down, while another believed that “there’s nothing in this” and that some have been overreacting to this.
Weirdest thing about it is him thinking he and JWP would be ahead of Wanyama & Schneiderlin. Not in the same parish.

This is going to end up like a Van Dijk/Lallana situation! Can’t believe people want this mug to sign a new contract! He’s so overrated https://t.co/70yoQ1zzC7

@Bradders1302 Reckon he’s off or going?
I saw that he’s getting captaincy taken off if he stays til contract ends.
Another thinking he’s too good? https://t.co/6P80TFBEnk

The fact it still has him with a saints badge there’s literally nothing in this. If he put this up with a spurs badge next him then you ask questions. This is him basically being like a fan

To be fair he has a point on what we could have been if our owners had showed a little more ambition and invested properly. I don’t blame players for wanting out if all they have to aim for is avoiding relegation.

Calm down guys. I highly doubt there’s anything in this.
