Southampton have long been linked with impressive Hull City youngster Jarrod Bowen and we saw speculation about a potential move for the versatile, and high scoring, 22-year-old both in the last January window, as well as over the summer.
Having impressed plenty following his breakthrough at the KCOM Stadium in 2017, he’s been linked with a host of clubs but it’s largely been about the price Hull would demand for him in terms of getting a deal done.
With 41 goals 93 starting appearances (13 substitute showings), Bowen has again hit the 2019/20 campaign running with four goals in seven matches so far.
Although January remains a long way off, the September international break was always going to see speculation return as the media looked to fill space, and Hull Live have leant on a report from The Express to suggest that manager Ralph Hasenhuttl continues to track the lad and we are one of two clubs who are ‘keeping tabs’ on him, ahead of a potential return in the New Year.
With reports claiming Hull were holding out for £20million last summer, with another six months of his contract that would bring the fee down a bit, but again, he’s exactly the sort of player we should be targetting as we look to brighter days ahead.
