Report Claims Southampton Have An Interest In Another Highly Rated Scot Making A Name For Themselves

|

With the January madness yet to restart when it comes to Southampton’s transfer rumour mill, we are still being linked with some low key – but with potential for the future – targets and Hamilton Academical defender Jamie Hamilton became the latest over the weekend.

It appears the 17-year-old first began making a name for himself last season as he made the step up to the Under 20 side for his club, and also gained a call up into Scotland’s Under 17 side. 2019/20 has seen him step up to Under 19 level for his country as well as Hamilton’s first team, although he only boasts two appearances so far – having picked up a red card in his last match.

The Daily Mail recently namechecked us as having an interest in him, alongside Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Norwich City and Derby County – so how much substance is true in the report is open for debate.

A young and clearly talented centre half, he would certainly seem to now be the prefered type of target for manager Ralph Hasenhuttl as we turn our eyes more back to youth production.
