Report Claims Young Southampton Talent Is A Target For Familiar League One Side

|

Young Southampton goalkeeping Academy product Harry Lewis has long been highly rated at the club and according to a recent report in the media, the 21-year-old former England Under 18 international could now be a target for League One side Burton Albion.

Having initially come through Shrewsbury Town’s youth setup, he made the switch to Staplewood back in 2015 to continue his development and he’s long been involved with our Under 23 group.

With three seniorappearances for us, the season of 2017/18 saw him make the switch out to Scottish side Dundee United for a successful loan spell and he made 38 starting appearances along with one substitute showing across all competitions for them that year.

With senior game time limited since then, the Derby Telegraph have now linked Burton with being interested in a loan spell for the lad as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the coming 2019/20 campaign.

Fans with long memories will wonder whether the Jake Hesketh saga last season would preclude any deals this year but that would be pretty childish really.
