Saints lost out to a plucky, long ball team, again.

Saints named a mostly reserve team side to face over ambitious very lucky Posh.

Saints only had one central defender fit, he had never played a cup competition in England before. 3 of the back four were out of position, while Davis missed out with a bug, Jones is injured, Powell suspended, others rested.

Saints played 2nd choice keeper Bartosz Bialkowski, A central midfield player at right back, a left back at centre back, and a left midfield player at the back. Reserves Mario Licka, Nathan Dyer and Safri played in midfield. Another reserve Bradley Wright-Phillips also played.

The posh played a hit and hope style of football and took the lead against the run of play, Bialkowski was fouled in his attempts to punch the ball clear and the ball flicked of Rasiaks head into his own net.

Peterbourough got lucky again, Skacels free kick couldn’t of been closer, coming off the inside of the post, the ball wouldnt fall for Rasiak.

The posh scored a lucky goal after that, Bialkowski made the save and instead of falling to a saints player the ball squirmed to a man in blue who tucked it away.

Saints goal was pure class. Youngstar Dyer left the defender and Josh Low for dead, Josh Low the Championship reject was left for dead by reserve player Dyer who played a cute ball for Rasiak to slot home for Saints.

Saints dominated and poor reffing stopped a Saints side who really couldn’t care less from spoiling the terrible home fans party.

What a load of rubbish, why doesn’t Burley drop this fella, and he was out of position

Average at best

Out of position and still kept the plucky forwards quiet.

Playing out of position, still left Posh players for dead

Nathan Dyer 8
Left them for dead when he had the ball.

The ball was never in the midfield due to the Posh HOOF tatics

tried to play but not fit yet

Andrew Surman 6
Was unlucky, should have had a penalty kick for hsi efforts

Marek Saganowski 6
The second best striker this club has didn’t have enough time to score.
Another player out of position but he showed some good touches.

Manager Rating
Burley fielded a experimental team. He never cared about the result. To be fair nor did the players or the fans.
