George Prost’s Southampton youth team lost 2-0 to Real Madrid in their second game of the Dallas Cup.

Saints hit the woodwork three times to give a scare to the Spanish giants who only led by one goal until the closing stages.

Prost told the official site: ‘We produced the best football and dominated the match and it was really harsh that we lost.

‘We had 11 chances to score. We hit the bar twice and the post once through Oliver Lancashire, Jake Thomson and Cedric Baseya. And their keeper made two or three fantastic saves.

‘We dominated but we were not efficient enough in our finishing which was a shame because we played some great football and Real Madrid were very impressed.

‘But we are still in the race if we win by a few goals on Wednesday. The last place will be decided by goal difference and if we take our chances then we can still get through.’
