Southampton Trio Are Up For March Premier League Gongs

|

With three Premier League wins in our last five matches, Southampton have begun the process of pulling ourselves away from the relegation zone in the Premier League campaign of 2018/19.

Back to back victories over Brighton and Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur either side of the March international break has begun to get juices flowing in the fanbase again and more than restored confidence that we can get ourselves out of the mess we were in.

Ahead of Friday evening’s tough clash with Liverpool at St Mary’s Stadium, saintsfc confirmed that a Southampton trio were up for top Premier League awards for last month.

Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has again been nominated for the Manager of the Month gong, having previously been on the shortlist for the month of January. He’s up against Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp, Marco Silva and Brendan Rodgers.

Midfielder James Ward-Prowse’s form has been recognised and he’s up for two awards this month. Player of the Month (second nomination this season) and Goal of the Month for his strike against Manchester United.

The shortlist is completed by Seamus Coleman, Sadio Mane, Andrew Robertson, Bernardo Silva and Jame Vardy.

Finally, fellow Academy graduate Yan Valery is also in the Goal of the Month competition following his own strike against United.

That shortlist features Andreas Pereira, Diogo Jota, Anthony Knockaert, Eden Hazard, Karlan Grant and Matt Ritchie.
