Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl will be able to put Southampton’s long fixture lull behind them as Premier League action returns this weekend and we face a trip up to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton and Hove Albion.

Southampton are only two points away from the relegation zone as we look to continue to improve our form and take steps forward and victory on Saturday could see us draw level with Brighton who sit just above us and potentially widen that gap further to the drop zone once again.

According to PhysioRoom’s injury table, our Austrian gaffer could get a boost in the problematic striker positions.

Having been withdrawn from Republic of Ireland international duty, Shane Long continues to be listed as a doubt with a groin problem but his expected return date remains to be Saturday. As does Danny Ings’ return date given his hamstring problem.

Mario Lemina’s abdominal issue is also suspected to see a return date of March 30, so we could see our numbers swell by three ahead of this game, depending how training has gone this week.

Michael Obafemi remains our only long term doubt with his hamstring issue ruling him out for the remainder of the campaign.

Possible returns I imagine will be confirmed later today or on Friday.
