Last week Saints dominated large parts of the game with Spurs but were left rueing their missed chances when a Bale super-strike won the points with time running out.
Talking before tonight’s game with Chelsea that Spurs really need to win, he was full of praise for the way that Saints play their football.
“We saw the wonderful team Mauricio (Pochettino) is building at Southampton, so although the change from Nigel (Adkins) to Mauricio is difficult to take and (after) what Nigel has achieved for that club, the reality is Southampton is not invisible in terms of their football. Their football is absolutely outstanding this season.”
Nice compliment but in reality I think we would have preferred the win to magnanimous praise after the event.
