Southampton returned to winning ways under manager Ralph Hasenhuttl in the weekend’s trip to the King Power Stadium to face off against former manager Claude Puel and his Leicester City side.

Goals from James Ward-Prowse and Shane Long in the opening 45 minutes was enough to see us past the double booking of Yann Valery as he was sent from the pitch, and Leicester’s attempt at a fight back in the second period.

With a number of strong performances on the day from the players, statistics website Whoscored had a clear Man of the Match as they gave their star man award to centre-half Jan Bednarek.

The top five best performers on the day were completed by Ward-Prowse (7.75), Matt Targett (7.70), Long (7.64) and Jannik Vestergaard (7.36).

Jack Stephens and Alex McCarthy also received scores of seven-plus and fans will be hoping now that we’re back to winning ways we can get a small winning streak going to really calm concerns.
