“Get it done”, “Yes please” – Lots of Saints fans drool over links with £12m ace

Plenty of Southampton fans have been salivating over reports linking them with the Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu.

According to AS, the 21-year-old has selected the Saints as the club that he wants to go to next, with just a work permit required for the move to be accepted.

The report adds that Salisu possesses a £12m release clause, which comes across as extremely good value for money, for a player that has averaged 2.5 aerial battles won and five clearances from 31 La Liga appearances, as per Whoscored.

Ralph Hasenhuttl appears to be keen to bring a new defender to the club, which could be to deputies for Jannik Vestergaard who had a £26m move to Leicester fall through in January.

With this in mind, supporters were excited about the prospect of Salisu joining Southampton and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan urged the club to “get it done”, while another simply stated, “yes please”.
