Hasenhuttl Linked With A Move For Highly Rated England U21 International Fullback

|

Reports have surfaced this week suggesting that Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl did have an additional target during the January transfer window, Bristol City and England Under 21 international full back Lloyd Kelly.

Outlet Bristol Live reported this week that Southampton enquired about the highly rated 20-year-old in January and were quoted a fee of around £15million for a deal to happen, but now apparently we are ready to go back in for the youngster having bided our time and had him scouted out fully in the second half of the year at Ashton Gate.

The left back has made 27 starting appearances for Lee Johnson’s side in the campaign of 2018/19 as they narrowly missed out on the Play-Off spots in the Championship, and he also made seven appearances from the substitutes bench – returning one goal.

They speculate that his fee may rise slightly over the summer as it’s expected he will feature again for England at the upcoming U21 European Championship in Italy and San Marino, but also that City aren’t keen to sell.

We’ll have to wait and see, but he does tick the basic boxes you’d think Hasenhuttl is looking for.
