Last weekend with it known that a number of players were available for transfer at Southampton, it was suggested that 25-year-old midfielder Mario Lemina would be made available as well as we looked to cash in to strengthen further under manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Report Adds Midfielder To Potential Southampton Exodus List But I’m Not So Sure
There wasn’t a lot in the report and The Telegraph only seemed to offer up the idea that it was his lack of game time last year that led them to the sale conclusion, but as fans know, Lemina was hit by injury last year and when he was fit he was pretty much used.
If the right price came in I think we might cash in given the further development we’ve seen from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and James Ward-Prowse, but I don’t see us openly making him available for transfer as he ticks a good box for us and provides competition, and it seems I’m not alone in holding that view as the speculation didn’t go down well with these fans on social media.
We’re making a big mistake if we’re letting Lemina go #Saintsfc https://t.co/hmIbTL4rfv

Agree Lemina is quality when he is in the team and fully fit.

Personally I think it would be a horrendous decision to get rid of Lemina…. the guy is oozes class on his day #saintsfc

We should keep Boufal and Lemina. They are a both quality. We should sell Stephens, Forster, Austin, Carillo, Gallagher, Hoedt, Clasie, Cedric, McQueen, Reed and maybe even Long. Should be more than enough for a solid centreback and one more player. #saintsfc

Why would anyone want to see Lemina go. Glimpses of genius. Injury prone first season in the hardest league in the world and coming into his prime at just 25. Bloke needs another season. Could be awesome #saintsfc
